Vasiliy S. Matyushevskiy graduated from Belarusian State University, and is PhD in Economic Science.
He started his career in 1991 as a research engineer in the State Economic Planning Institute of the Republic of Belarus. In 1992-1994 served as attache, 3rd secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus. In 1994-1997 he was employed as senior economist, head of department, then deputy head of division in the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus. In 1997-1998 he executed duties of the economic advisor of the Minister of finance of the Republic of Belarus. In 1998 he was moved to the position of Director of International Operations Department of the National Bank. Since 2001 he has occupied the position of Deputy Chairman of the Board of the bank.
